April 1 marks the beginning of Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month

April is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month in the United States, according to a report from Mederi Therapeutics.

“Bluntly put, chronic GERD, left untreated can lead to esophageal cancer,” said Gary Reiss, MD, a gastroenterologist at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
