Here are five gastroenterologists who joined new providers in September, as reported by Becker’s.
1. Zanesville, Ohio-based Genesis HealthCare System appointed gastroenterologist Alexandra Davies, DO, to Genesis Digestive Disease Specialists. Dr. Davies is an active member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American College of Physicians and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
2. Norio Fukami, MD, a Mayo Clinic gastroenterologist, completed the first procedure in EndoQuest Robotics’ trial of its endoluminal surgical system. Dr. Fukami removed a colorectal lesion using the robotic system in an endoscopic submucosal dissection. The trial is enrolling 50 patients at five U.S. sites, including Brigham and Women’s (Boston), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minn.), Cleveland Clinic, AdventHealth Orlando and HCA Houston Healthcare.
3. Pediatric gastroenterologist Justin DeVito, DO, joined Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Dr. DeVito has clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease and eosinophilic esophagitis. He previously served as a pediatric gastroenterologist at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia and associate program director of the pediatric residency program at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.
4. Zachary, La.-based Lane Regional Medical Center added gastroenterologist Diana Curras Martin, MD, to its gastroenterology department. Dr. Curras Martin completed her residency at Neptune, N.J.-based Jersey Shore University Medical Center and a fellowship at Loma Linda (Calif.) University Medical Center.
5. Lucas Buchanan, DO, joined Maury Regional Medical Group Mid-South Gastroenterology in Columbia, Tenn. Dr. Buchanan specializes in diagnosing and treating digestive disorders and performing procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy.
