1. The American College of Cardiology awarded its annual Bernadine Healy Leadership in Women’s Cardiovascular Disease award to Karol Watson, MD, professor of medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles. 

2. Gagan Singh, MD, performed a transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, making it the first hospital in the region to complete the procedure. 

3. B. Hadley Wilson, MD, an interventional cardiologist, began his one-year term as president of the American College of Cardiology.
