Private equity continues to expand its footprint across physician practices and outpatient care, with investors targeting specialties ranging from dermatology and plastic surgery to psychiatry and infusion services.
Recent deals also highlight the range of strategies firms are using to build scale, including acquisitions through established management platforms and investments in companies supporting physician-owned outpatient facilities.
Here are five private equity firms expanding their healthcare portfolios through recent acquisitions:
1. Bregal Sagemount: The New York-based firm recently acquired Knuckles Dermatology, a two-location dermatology practice in Corbin and Richmond, Ky., through a Integrated Dermatology Group. The deal marked Integrated Dermatology’s second acquisition of 2026.
2. Health Catalyst Capital: The New York-based private equity firm, recently acquired a Midwest-based psychiatric medical care practice serving elderly and disabled adults in long-term care facilities and hospitals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
3. Hildred Capital Partners: Through it’s subsidiary DermCare Management, the New York firm acquired Fort Worth Plastic Surgery in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and physician-owned Wilmington Dermatology Center in Wilmington, N.C., expanding its national network to nearly 50 brands and almost 100 locations.
4. Seven Isles Capital: The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based private equity and venture capital firm is the parent company of Newtown, Pa.-based DermDox Group. DermDox Group recently acquired Modern Aesthetics Plastic Surgery, a three-location aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery practice in Pennsylvania.
5. DFW Capital Partners: The New York-based firm, parent company of Singlepoint Healthcare, added Sugar Land, Texas-based Healix to its portfolio. Healix is a national infusion services provider supporting more than 220 physician-owned and ambulatory fusion centers.
