Mary Bird Perkins, Woman’s Hospital’s new cancer pavilion features outpatient surgery center

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and Woman’s Hospital are building a $25 million Breast and GYN Cancer Pavilion which will feature an outpatient surgery center, according to Business Report. Both organizations are based in Baton Rouge, La.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The pavilion is the latest in a long line of collaborations between the two organizations. In addition to the surgery center, the pavilion will offer diagnostic services, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

2. The pavilion will also conduct clinical trials and have physician offices.

3. Woman’s Hospital Vice President of Ancillary Services Kurt Scott said, “Rather than duplicating efforts, we’re really coming together to focus on bringing the best of all worlds to our patients.”
