Malcolm Grow Medical Clinic Transitions to Air Force’s First Ambulatory Surgery Center

Malcolm Grow Medical Center recently transitioned to the Air Force’s first ambulatory surgery center in the National Capital Region, opening a newly renovated same-day surgery unit with 18 beds, according to a Cap Flyer report.

The operating room will expand ambulatory surgery capabilities with the acquisition of over $500,000 in new surgical center equipment and instrumentation. The surgery center recently purchased an imaged-guided navigation system for ENT procedures, which was used for the first time on May 11. The ASC has also acquired new arthroscopy equipment for its orthopedic surgeons.
