Compass Surgical's year: 6 moves in 4 months

Raleigh, N.C.-based ASC management company Compass Surgical Partners has hit the ground running in 2024, striking new partnerships and garnering new equity investments. 

Here are six moves from the MSO since the start of 2024: 

1. Compass partnered with Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health to open the Greenville, S.C.-based Millennium Surgery Center, which will offer same-day orthopedic, otolaryngology and pain management care.

2. Compass partnered with Marriottsville, Md.-based Bon Secours to build a cardiovascular surgery center in Short Pump, Va. Compass owns 49% of the facility, while Bon Secours owns the other portion. 

3. Compass is collaborating with the Advanced Joint and Spine Institute Orlando to open a new Orlando-based ASC. The facility will offer outpatient spine, total joint replacement, orthopedic surgeries and interventional pain management procedures.

4. Bon Secours Mercy Health and Compass opened a 12,000-square-foot ASC in Springfield, Ohio, that will offer several specialties, including neurosurgery, orthopedics, podiatry, plastic surgery, interventional pain management, OB-GYN, gastroenterology and general surgery. 

5. Compass and Jacksonville, Fla.-based Baptist Health partnered to open Jacksonville Beach, Fla.-based Horizon Surgery Center. 

6. Alternative asset management firm TPG made a strategic investment in Compass Surgical Partners.
