Recent move: In 2025, St. Louis-based Ascension signed a definitive agreement to acquire AmSurg in a deal reportedly valued at $3.9 billion. The acquisition is expected to close this year.
Atlas
Headquarters: Phoenix
Number of ASCs: 50
Recent move: In April, Minneapolis-based Fairview Health Services and Atlas formed a joint venture to develop and operate a network of ASCs across Minnesota and surrounding regions.
Compass Surgical Partners
Headquarters: Raleigh, N.C.
Number of ASCs: 20 operated, 40+ developed
Recent move: In March, Compass Surgical Partners, Baptist Health and Coastal Health partnered with local physicians to operate an ASC in Jacksonville, Fla. The organizations have taken ownership of Middleburg Surgery Center, a 5,500-square-foot facility with two operating rooms.
NueHealth

Recent move: In January, NueHealth announced four ASC partnerships across Missouri and New Jersey. The new partnerships include Hackensack (N.J.) Musculoskeletal Surgery Center, St. Joseph (Mo.) Center for Outpatient Surgery, The Surgical Center at Columbia (Mo.) Orthopaedic Group and Surgery Center of the Northland in Platte City, Mo.

Recent move: In October, Shaun Cartwright was named chief operating officer of HCA Surgery Ventures.
Regent Surgical Health

Recent move: In September, Regent Surgical entered into a partnership with Patches Kids Care to develop ASCs, marking its first venture into pediatric care.
SCA Health
Headquarters: Deerfield, Ill.

Recent move: In February, Matthew Warren was named vice president of SCA Health’s revenue operations.
Solara Surgical

Recent move: In July, Orlando (Fla.) Health and Solara Surgical launched a national joint venture to expand ASC development and operations.

Recent move: In December, Surgery Partners partnered with Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health to jointly own a 16-bed hospital in Bryan, Texas.
