James Moyer, MD, used a innovative device to treat a patient suffering from urinary outflow obstruction secondary to benign prostatic hyperplasia, according to Pocono Record.

1. Dr. Moyer practices with Stroudsburg, Pa.-based Pocono Ambulatory Surgery Center.

2. The surgeon used the UroLift System, which the FDA cleared for use in 2013. Surgeons primarily use the device in men age 50 and older with prostate issues.

3. The device aims to relieve symptoms that an enlarged prostate causes.

4. Alongside Dr. Moyer, Michael Eufemio, MD, has used the device at the ASC.
