Voters cite growing concerns over healthcare costs — 6 takeaways

A national poll found more Americans are concerned about the overall cost of healthcare and their health insurance, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Here are six takeaways:

1. Respondents ranked the Affordable Care Act as eighth among issues that are extremely important to the upcoming presidential election.

2. Of the respondents, 28 percent expressed growing concern over the amount people personally pay for healthcare, and said health insurance would be an important issue in the upcoming presidential election.

3. Despite the public being divided over the ACA, most Americans are concerned about increasing drug prices and surprise medical bills.

4. All of the Republican presidential candidates vow to repeal the ACA if elected president.

5. Sen. Bernie Sanders is calling for a single-payer health plan to reduce premiums.

6. Hillary Clinton wants to build upon the ACA by implementing new regulations on drug manufacturers and insurance companies.
