Lisa Davis: We are firm believers in setting appropriate expectations for the patient. Our staff works diligently to ensure that every patient is notified of their expected cost share prior to their procedure, as well provide financing/payment plan options to them so they can choose how they will want to resolve their balance. By having this discussion upfront, patients are prepared in advance and 'surprise' billing is avoided. This not only allows them to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements, but also ensures we maintain a good reputation in our community for being a trustworthy healthcare provider.

Q: How has the increase in high deductible health plans affected your patients?

LD: Luckily, we offer payment plan and financing options for [patients] that allow them to still obtain the care they need, but in a way that they can afford.

Q: Where is the biggest opportunity for strategic growth in the next nine to 12 months?

LD: [It is] obtaining the AAAHC Advanced Certifications in total joint replacement and spine. This will allow us to incorporate contracts, making us the preferred outpatient provider for patients in our area.
