Optum reports $26.4B in Q1 revenues & more — 6 ASC industry notes

Here are six updates on ASC companies and industry-relevant companies to note:

Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group reported strong first-quarter growth, with Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Optum revenues hitting $26.4 billion. Read more.

Stuart (Fla.) Surgery Center treated 3,000-plus patients in its first year of operation. Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners partnered with Stuart-based Martin Health System and five MHS gastroenterologists to open the freestanding ASC.

Omni Ophthalmic Management Consultants acquired Ludwick Eye Center's three clinics and two ASCs in Pennsylvania and Maryland. Omni is a NMS Capital portfolio holding.

Westchester, Ill.-based Regent Surgical Health named Scott Bergman its new vice president of business development.

Eye Health America acquired Carolinas Center for Sight, which is based in Florence, S.C. The practice includes a main campus in Florence, as well as four satellite offices and the Florence Surgery and Laser Center.

The American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities appointed Thomas Terranova as its new executive director.
