Here's a timeline of what happened:
July 6: ABC15 reported Dr. Goyal used false, forged and fabricated documents to obtain an anesthesia permit from the Arizona Dental Board. The board's executive director had received multiple warnings about his credentials, according to the report, but board officials refused to provide further information to ABC15.
July 10: Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, R, demanded immediate answers to questions about how the board handled the situation.
July 12: Dr. Goyal is arrested and charged with multiple felonies.
July 16: Elaine Hugunin, the board's executive director, suddenly retired.
Aug. 1: Gov. Ducey asked the dental board to immediately suspend or revoke Dr. Goyal's full dental license.
Aug. 3: The board said it wouldn't take stronger action against Dr. Goyal's license.
Nov. 1: Dr. Goyal and the board mutually agreed to suspend his full dental license and delay the board's investigation, pending his trial.
