1. The MAKO system is a surgeon-controlled robot designed for increased accuracy in alignment and implant placement. The technology has a 1 percent revision rate for partial knee replacements and a 92 percent patient satisfaction rate at two years after surgery.
2. The system includes patient-specific visualization and proprietary tactile robotic arm technology integrated with intelligent surgical instruments.
3. Surgeons can use the technology in the pre-planning stage to achieve reproducible outcomes.
4. More than 50,000 MAKO hip and knee replacement procedures have been performed since 2006.
5. Stryker acquired MAKO Surgical in December 2013.
