Aerosol-generating procedures, such as a nasolaryngoscopy and intranasal instrumentation were found to carry risk of transmission for COVID-19, the release said. Researches designed and tested a prototype nasolaryngoscopy hood worn by the patient.
The research found the hood was effective in reducing the spread, especially if a patient sneezes during an examination, the release said.
