10 states with the highest year-over-year growth in ASCs

North Dakota had the greatest year-over-year percentage growth in Medicare-certified ASCs from 2017-18, according to data from The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Using data provided by CMS, ASCA reported the number of Medicare-certified ASCs in each state as of June 2017 and June 2018. Here are the 10 states with the largest percentage increase from 2017-18:

1. North Dakota: 9 percent
2. Texas: 6.8 percent
3. Alaska: 6.7 percent
4. New York: 5.2 percent
5. Pennsylvania: 4.3 percent
6. Nebraska: 4.3 percent
7. Mississippi: 4.3 percent
8. Minnesota: 4.3 percent
9. Delaware: 4.3 percent
10. Illinois: 4.1 percent
