27 states gained Medicare-certified ASCs from 2017-18

Texas gained more Medicare-certified ASCs than any other state from June 2017-18, according to data from The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Using data provided by CMS, ASCA reported the number of Medicare-certified ASCs in each state as of June 2017 and June 2018. Here are the states that gained Medicare-certified ASCs from 2017-18:

1. Texas: 25
2. Georgia: 11
3. Pennsylvania: 10
4. Florida: 9
5. New York: 7
6. Arizona: 7
7. Illinois: 5
8. Minnesota: 3
9. Mississippi: 3
10. Wisconsin: 3
11. North Carolina: 2
12. Missouri: 2
13. Oregon: 2
14. Arkansas: 2
15. Nebraska: 2
16. Virginia: 2
17. Maryland: 1
18. Michigan: 1
19. Louisiana: 1
20. Nevada: 1
21. Connecticut: 1
22. Oklahoma: 1
23. Kentucky: 1
24. New Hampshire: 1
25. Delaware: 1
26. Alaska: 1
27. North Dakota: 1
