Here’s what you should know:
1. The company filed its intent with the New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry in January.
2. McKesson officials said the plant is closing because of lost business associated with Walgreens’ acquisition of Rite Aid.
3. The plant’s employees are members of a union and are, therefore, eligible for up to two-weeks of severance pay per year of service. McKesson will pay the laid off workers at least four weeks of severance pay with a 52-week maximum.
