Orthopedic spine surgeon Michael Mauro, DO, joined the staff of Healthpointe in La Mirada, Calif.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Dr. Mauro will see patients at six of Healthpointe’s California locations.

2. He specializes in general orthopedic disorders as well as cervical, thoracic and lumbar spinal disorders.

3. Dr. Mauro earned his osteopathic medicine degree from Kirksville (Mo.) College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a residency at Dayton, Ohio-based Grandview Hospital and Medical Center and an orthopedic spine surgery fellowship at Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University.
