Here’s what you need to know:

1. The intellijoint HIP addresses total hip replacement surgery risks by providing accurate intraoperative measurements for leg length, cup position and offset to help surgeons match the patient’s anatomy when placing implants.

2. "By providing intraoperative implant measurements to assist in accurately positioning hip implants, intellijoint HIP has allowed a reduction in the number of radiographs I would normally take during a direct anterior hip replacement," Dr. Payne said.

3. "We are honored to receive this award that celebrates our commitment to bettering patient outcomes and advancing the technology of joint replacements," said Allan M. Spooner, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Olympia Fields (Ill.).

4. Franciscan Health is one of 14 hospitals in the Franciscan Alliance, which is one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems in the Midwest.
