Massachusetts Eye and Ear Announces Opening of Global Surgery & Health Office

Massachusetts Eye and Ear, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate in Boston, has announced the opening of its Office of Global Surgery and Health, which is meant to address the growing number of preventable blindness and treatable deafness in the developing world.

A gift from Carmella R. Keltjian established the Steven C. Carmela R. Kletjian Endowed Chair in Global Surgery and made the new office possible. Mack L. Cheney, MD, a physician of Massachusetts Eye and Ear and Harvard medical professor, will be the first to hold the chair.
