New ASC Development

Covington, La.-based St. Tammany Health System has opened its new St. Tammany Health System Surgery facility, AN17 reported Dec. 39.

While high-population states like California and Texas saw more ASC growth in 2024, southern states like Florida, Alabama and North Carolina punched well above their weight in new ASCs. 

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare has withdrawn the zoning application for its planned Middle Virginia Surgicenter in Hanover, Va., after a lengthy certificate-of-need approval process, Richmond Biz Sense reported Dec. 19.

Cleveland Clinic has announced plans to open a hospital in West Palm Beach, Fla., that will include a new ASC, according to a Dec. 19 report from the Palm Beach Post.

Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Health has announced plans to open a musculoskeletal center in Brainerd Lakes, Minn., the Mille Lacs Messenger reported Dec. 17.

Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has earned a certificate of need for a $25 million multispecialty outpatient surgical center at its eye institute, according to a Dec. 12 report from the Triad Business Journal.
