6 cardiovascular ASCs opened, announced in 2019

At least six cardiovascular ASCs were opened or announced so far this year:

Phoenix-based National Cardiovascular Management is developing a medical campus that will feature a multispecialty ASC. NCM's AKOS Medical Campus will be part of the growing Avondale Health-Tech Corridor in Avondale, Ariz.

David Allie, MD, and Raghotham Patlola, MD, are turning a long-vacant facility in Lafayette, La., into a cardiovascular clinic housing four different practices and procedures. The 40,000-square-foot Allie and Patiola Medical Center will feature a 10,000-square-foot surgery center for acute procedures such as pacemakers and coronary stents.

Houston-based Vital Heart & Vein moved into a new facility that features an ASC and a walk-in clinic, according to Powers Brown Architecture. The Humble, Texas-based facility houses the group's full-service medical practice, a non-invasive imaging center, a blood lab and a dual-entity outpatient cath lab.

Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners formed Tampa, Fla.-based Legacy Surgery Center in partnership with a group of physicians. Having acquired Tampa-based Elite Surgery Center, Legacy Surgery Center will offer orthopedic and spine procedures in addition to vascular and cardiovascular surgeries. The partners aim to make Legacy Surgery Center "a regionally leading outpatient center for endovascular and cardiovascular interventions."

Royal Oak, Mich.-based Hillcrest Capital Partners, an ASC development and management company, aims to open 15 ASCs by the end of 2020. It wants to develop centers for cardiovascular care, as well as spine, orthopedics and pain management.

Richmond-based Virginia Cardiovascular Specialists opened offices in Richmond's West Creek Medical Park, which is also home to West Creek Surgery Center. This is Virginia Cardiovascular's 10th office.
