Here are 10 ASC projects that were announced or completed in July, as reported by Becker’s:
1. Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare opened a new ASC in Gaylord, Mich., after receiving accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care as well as Medicare certification.
2. Allina Health will open the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis on Aug. 29, 2026, completing the largest infrastructure project in the health system’s history.
3. University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Clinton will build a new 22,000-square-foot ambulatory clinical center and undergo a major hospital renovation after the University of Michigan Board of Regents approved the project July 16 in St. Johns, Mich.
4. Nashville-based Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance opened a 57,000-square-foot orthopedic campus in Spring Hill, Tenn., July 1.
5. NYU Langone Health has opened NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Patchogue (N.Y.), a 54,000-square-foot outpatient facility, expanding surgical and specialty access for patients across Suffolk County.
6. Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics is planning three new ASCs in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The organization is currently a partner in nine surgery centers and two surgical hospitals across Pennsylvania and New Jersey, but is aiming for the new ASCs to be opened independently.
7. Charlotte, N.C.-based Atrium Health and OrthoCarolina extended their longstanding affiliation to expand orthopedic services. The two organizations are launching an ASC joint venture to provide access to orthopedic procedures in lower-cost outpatient settings.
8. Lakeland, Fla.-based Watson Clinic opened Watson Clinic Surgery Center South on July 6, adding a 30,000-square-foot outpatient surgical facility to its south Lakeland campus.
9. Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center received a $10 million gift from a local family to establish the Earl Family Surgical Center, one of the largest philanthropic donations in the hospital’s nearly 125-year history.
10. Chillicothe, Ohio-based Cohen Orthopedic is moving forward with construction of the Great Seal Medical Center, a new healthcare campus that will include medical office space and an ASC.
