Tenet Healthcare to pay departing CEO Trevor Fetter $22.9M — 3 insights

Following news of his resignation, Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare will bestow departing CEO Trevor Fetter a $22.9 million severance package, Dallas News reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Mr. Fetter announced his resignation in August, following news two board members resigned from their positions.

2. Mr. Fetter had a base salary of $1.27 million in 2015 and 2016. Including incentives, Mr. Fetter made $12.3 million in 2016. His 2016 salary was down from the $17.9 million he made in 2015.

3. The $22.9 million Mr. Fetter will receive in his severance package includes health benefits. Tenet’s executives qualify for severance packages when their employment is terminated or dismissed for “good cause.”
