Cardinal Health named a top company for executive women — 5 highlights

The National Association for Female Executives recognized Cardinal Health as a top company for female advancement for the seventh year in a row. Here are five highlights:

1. NAFE selected Cardinal Health for its gender partnership workshops and programs, formal mentoring opportunities and employee resource groups, including the Women's Initiative Network.

2. Cardinal Health's female advancement efforts include the Partners Leading Change initiative, a two-day course focused on developing leadership skills with attention to gender and diversity.

3. NAFE identifies 70 top companies based on female representation at all levels, programs and policies promoting women's advancement, and training and accountability for female advancement.

4. At Cardinal Health, 43 percent of direct reports to the CEO are women. Of the company's top 10 percent of earners, 34 percent are women.

5. Companies must have at least 1,000 employees and two women on the board of directors to participate in NAFE's Top Companies survey.
