Robert LaPrade, MD, PhD, attained a rare level of research, publishing more than 400 peer-reviewed studies. Here are three notes.

1. A complex knee and sports medicine specialist at Vail, Colo.-based The Steadman Clinic., Dr. LaPrade has published more than 130 articles in the American Journal of Sports Medicine alone, and over 125 book chapters.

2. Dr. LaPrade’s research has covered topics such as posterolateral knee injuries, meniscus injuries and knee instability.

3. “It is not just the sheer number of publications, but the quality of his research has truly helped advance our understanding of orthopaedic injuries, particularly (but not exclusively) of the knee,” said Marc Safran, MD, chief of sports medicine at Stanford (Calif.) University Medical Center.
