7 ASC leadership moves to know

1. Brentwood, Tenn.-based Surgery Partners announced that Harrison Bane, national group president, will resign Oct. 3. Mr. Bane notified the Board of Directors of his decision Sept. 11.

2. Raleigh, N.C.-based Compass Surgical Partners appointed Chris Fromme as its new chief operating officer. Mr. Fromme has more than 25 years of leadership in physician-led healthcare settings including ASCs, dental and behavioral health. 

3. HCA Healthcare appointed Shaun Cartwright as chief operating officer of its ASC division, Surgery Ventures. In his new role, Mr. Cartwright will oversee all operating regions, which encompass 150 ASCs across 16 states and involve around 3,400 physician partners

4. UnitedHealth Group announced the appointment of Wayne DeVeydt, former CEO of ASC chain Surgery Partners, as its new chief financial officer.

5. Philadelphia-based Wills Eye Hospital named Julia Haller, MD, as CEO. In the role, Dr. Haller will oversee patient care, strategic planning, financial performance and philanthropic advancement.

6. The New Jersey Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers appointed two new members to its board of directors — Trina Brinkley, RN, administrator of Freehold (N.J) Endoscopy Associates, and Marjorie Reiter, administrator of Surgery Center of Central New Jersey. Ms. Brinkley and Ms. Reiter will fill two seats by board members no longer able to serve their terms.
