HCA Healthcare has appointed Shaun Cartwright as chief operating officer of its ASC division, Surgery Ventures.

In his new role, Mr. Cartwright will oversee all operating regions, which encompass 150 ASCs across 16 states and involve around 3,400 physician partners, according to a Sept. 8 news release from the Nashville, Tenn.-based health system.

Mr. Cartwright joined Surgery Ventures in 2006 and most recently served as senior vice president of operations for the Western Region, where he managed 27 ASCs across eight markets.

“Shaun is a seasoned operator with a track record of driving results, developing talent and fostering innovation,” says Greg Beasley, president of Surgery Ventures, said in the release. “He is uniquely qualified to take on this new COO role, and I am confident his leadership will continue to elevate Surgery Ventures and support our long-term success.”

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
