4 things to know about Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation’s new president Dr. Michael Parks

The Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation named Michael Parks, MD, its next president at the OREF board of trustees meeting March 5 in New Orleans.

Here are four things to know.

1. Dr. Parks is New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery’s vice chair for quality and the clinical director of orthopedic surgery.

2. He has been an OREF trustee member since 2013 and a donor since 1998.

3. Dr. Parks also served as co-chair of the OREF James Urbaniak, MD Mentor Campaign.

4. Dr. Parks is a past president of the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

He said, “OREF is the leading grant resource for new investigators by providing important financial support necessary to provide a foundation for their careers. I am honored to lead this organization as it continues to support research to improve function, eliminate pain and restore mobility, thereby making life better for all patients.”
