3 key reasons to become a physician

Despite dwindling reimbursement and physician burnout continuing to increase, Columnist Greg Kelly, former editor of Physician's Money Digest, published an article detailing the positive aspects of being a provider.

Here are three reasons to consider:

1. Patient-provider relationship. In an era of online reviews and patient satisfaction scores, patients still trust their providers and the state of healthcare. A recent Gallup poll found more than 75 percent of U.S. patients rated their healthcare's quality as "excellent" or "good."

2. Compensation. On average, physicians' annual income surpasses $200,000 annually.

3. High IQs: The Henmon-Nelson IQ test found medical providers have the highest IQ among all other occupation. On average, physicians have an IQ of 128, making the profession highly respected.
