Philip Sawyer resigned as President and CEO of Invuity, a medical technology company focused on minimal access surgery. Scott Flora will serve as interim President and CEO. Here are three insights.
1. Invuity has begun searching for a permanent CEO. The company looks to "bring in a CEO who will execute on the company’s vision and move forward towards profitability while scaling the organization," said Chairman Gregory Lucier.
2. Mr. Sawyer will no longer serve on the board of directors. During his eight years with Invuity, Mr. Sawyer launched the company and led its initial public offering.
3. Mr. Flora previously held a consulting role with Invuity and joined its board of directors in November 2017. He is president of SFlora Consulting.
