Los Angeles-based UCLA Health has been gifted $25 million from UCLA alumna and former chair of the UCLA Foundation board Shirley Wang and her husband, Walter, for its new digestive health center.
The UCLA Walter and Shirley Wang Center for Integrative Digestive Health will offer comprehensive care, support and guidance for patients and families with GI disorders, according to an April 28 press release.
The integrative center will treat all aspects of GI disorders, including frequently experienced symptoms including migraine headaches, chronic body pain, insomnia and mood disorders.
The facility will employ physicians, GI psychologists and specialized dietitians, as well as integrative health practitioners who specialize in the use of evidence-based wellness approaches, diaphragmatic breathing, mindfulness-based interventions, relaxation and self-compassion training, according to the release.
