Dr. Sandborn is a gastroenterologist and inflammatory disease clinician, according to an April 26 news release.
“Bill’s depth and breadth of experience in the immunotherapy space will help us drive our cell therapy programs to the clinic and build a valuable pipeline of allogeneic induced pluripotent stem cell-based therapies,” Kleanthis Xanthopoulos, PhD, Shoreline Biosciences co-founder and executive chair said.
Dr. Sandborn received his medical degree and completed his residency at Loma Linda (Calif.) University School of Medicine. He also completed a gastroenterology fellowship at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic. Dr. Sandborn was awarded the Sherman Prize in 2019 for his work in inflammatory bowel disease, and he published more than 849 peer-reviewed articles.
