Police close sexual assault investigation of Florida gastroenterologist — 5 insights

Crestview (Fla.) Police Dept. closed the investigation of gastroenterologist Khalid Moussa, MD, who was accused of sexual assault, nwfdailynews.com reports.

1. Twelve women are civilly suing Dr. Moussa for alleged sexual assault.

2. The Crestview Police Dept. investigated the charges but did not find enough evidence to file criminal charges.

3. Crestview Police Dept. investigator C.A. London said, “I have determined that no criminal acts have occurred. [Dr.] Moussa’s actions may be unethical and he may have used poor bedside manners during some of the examinations, his actions do not rise to the level of criminal.”

4. The Okaloosa County State’s Attorney Office agreed with the police department’s findings.

5. The 12 women are still pursuing the civil suit against Dr. Moussa and his practice Crestview-based North Okaloosa Physician Group.
