What you should know:
1. Joseph Locker, MD, completed the milestone procedure, which was a left total hip replacement, Jan. 10.
2. The patient didn’t require pain medication and left the ASC after two hours in recovery. He rated his experience 10 out of 10.
3. Dr. Locker and one other surgeon began performing total joint replacements at the center in 2017. They perform more total hip replacements than total knee or shoulder replacements.
4. The Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Ocala achieved a 97 percent patient satisfaction rate from 2017 to 2018 on Press Ganey’s annual patient survey.
5. The 10,000-square-foot ASC has three operating rooms and opened in 2016.
