New registry examines Stretta for GERD after sleeve gastrectomy: 4 observations

A new multi-center registry will study Stretta therapy as a treatment option for patients suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease after sleeve gastrectomy.

1. The study will include 15 bariatric programs in the United States.

2. The study will examine patients with documented GERD a minimum of six months after a sleeve gastrectomy.

3. Erin Moran-Atkins, MD, an assistant professor of surgery at the Montefiore Medical center and Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York City, is the principal investigator.

4. Mederi Therapeutics developed Stretta therapy, a non-surgical procedure for GERD that uses radiofrequency energy.
