Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune (N.C.) is offering virtual colonoscopies, according to Defense Video & Imagery Distribution System.

1. Virtual colonoscopy is a low-dose, less-invasive computerized tomography scan.  

2. Virtual colonoscopy does not require heavy sedation or a colonoscope.

3. While virtual colonoscopy will not replace, hospital officials hope it will encourage more people over 50 years to get screened.
