Motus GI’s Pure-Vu Slim Sleeve receives FDA clearance — 4 insights

The FDA awarded Motus GI’s Pure-Vu Slim Sleeve 510(k) clearance, expanding Motus’ reach to encompass the full range of gastrointestinal procedures.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The slim sleeve is as effective as the Pure-Vu Sleeve and works with the Pure-Vu workstation control system.

2. The slim sleeve works with smaller,more flexible colonoscopes. Motus GI made several improvements to the sleeve’s low friction lubricant coating to aid in navigation.

3. Motus GI CEO Mark Pomeranz estimates U.S. gastroenterologists use slim colonoscopes in about 30 percent of their procedures and expects the adoption rate to continue growing.

4. The slim sleeve should be available for clinical use in the coming weeks.
