Mercy, Rockford health systems merger expands pediatric GI care services

Due to the recent merger between Janesville, Wis.-based Mercy Health System and Rockford (Ill.) Health System, children with gastrointestinal issues will be able to receive care in Janesville, according to a Gazette Extra report.

A number of pediatric gastroenterology physicians from Rockford Health System will begin seeing patients at Mercy Clinic East in Janesville on a weekly basis. They will provide care for children with a number of gastrointestinal conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease and celiac disease.

The new services as a result of the merger also include expanded maternal fetal medicine and OB-GYN care.
