GI physician leader to know: Dr. Julio Salcedo of Capital Digestive Care’s Washington Gastroenterology

Julio A. Salcedo, MD, practices at Capital Digestive Care’s Washington Gastroenterology in Washington, D.C. He also provides care at Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore and Chevy Chase (Md.) Endoscopy Center. He is a member of American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.

Dr. Salcedo is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in gastroenterology and internal medicine. During his fellowship training, Dr. Salcedo focused on advanced endoscopic procedures, specifically ERCP and EUS in the management of biliary and pancreatic diseases. He has been in practice in Washington, D.C. since 2001, before which he was in private practice in Norfolk, Va.

Dr. Salcedo completed his medical degree at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and he completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He completed a fellowship in clinical pharmacology in the combined Georgetown University-National Institutes of Health Program. He also completed his gastroenterology fellowship at Georgetown University Medical Center.
