FDA Issues Rules for Gluten-Free Labeling

The FDA has released the first official, legally binding rules regulating what food companies can label as gluten-free, according to a capital public radio report.

The rules state that food labeled as gluten-free cannot contain more than 20 parts per million of gluten. The regulations will go into effect next year.
