EndoGastric Solutions’ EsophyX Z device receives FDA approval: 4 things to know

The FDA has granted 510(k) clearance for EndoGastric Solutions’ EsophyX Z device.

Here are four things to know:

1. The EsophyX Z device is the next-generation version of the EsophyX device.

2. EsophyX Z allows physicians to reconstruct the gastroesophageal valve and then secure the tissue with a trigger-like handle.

3. EsophyX Z is compatible with EndoGastric Solutions’ existing 7.5 mm SerosaFuse Implantable Fastener cartridges.

4. EsophyX Z will enter a limited release in the United States before full commercialization during summer 2016.
