ColonaryConcepts enrolls 1st patient in colon prep phase 2 clinical trial

Biotechnology company ColonaryConcepts has enrolled its first patient in a phase 2 clinical trial of colon preparation.

The phase 2 clinical trial focuses on nutritionally-balanced meals that incorporate polyethylene glycol (PEG-3350). The alternative colonoscopy prep kit includes food and beverages combined with PEG-3350. The kit is designed to be consumed 24 of hours prior to undergoing colonoscopy.

The phase 2 clinical trial is being conducted at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., and Indiana University Health, based in Lafayette. A phase 3 clinical trial is expected to begin in 2016.
