Boston Scientific sales hit $1.76B, PENTAX names new CMO, COO & more – 5 GI/endoscopy company key notes

Here are five recent news updates on gastroenterology and endoscopy companies.

Boston Scientific reported $1.768 billion in sales for the first quarter, representing a 6 percent increase in operational revenue growth compared to the prior year period.

Check-Cap received a notice of allowance from the United States Patent and Trademark Office for its patent application covering its preparation-free capsule endoscopy system. Once the patent is granted, it is expected to last through 2031,

Publisher Elsevier has launched the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Resource Center, a free online platform, according to an IBD News Today report. The new resource center was funded by an educational grant from Ferring Pharmaceuticals.

La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company named four physicians to its LJPC-401 advisory board, including gastroenterologist Paul Adams, MD.  

PENTAX Medical appointed a new chief medical officer and COO of the Americas. Mark Koppel, MD, JD, will serve as the company's CMO of the Americas. Gene Merante is now the company's COO.
