Man threatens to open fire at Tennessee ASC

A man has been accused of threatening to shoot an ASC in Nashville, Tenn., causing the center to close temporarily, WSMV 4 reported Sept. 18. 

Police told the publication that Emil Jawad, a 37-year-old man, called the Tristar Cardiovascular Surgery Center on Sept. 15. He then allegedly told a nurse that he needed a “check,” otherwise he would open fire on the center. Two hours later, he allegedly made another threat over the phone, prompting an emergency response from the Metro Nashville Police Department. 

The center was closed until Mr. Jawad was arrested. He has been charged with a felony of false reporting and a misdemeanor failure to be booked.
