Hoag names new director of cardiovascular surgery

Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag has appointed Jack Sun, MD, as its new director of cardiovascular surgery, The Los Angeles Times reported June 26.

Dr. Sun previously served as chief of cardiac surgery at University of California Irvine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto and completed an advanced fellowship in cardiac surgery at Boston-based Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which is affiliated with Harvard University.

Dr. Sun has co-authored more than 60 publications and presentations and joins Hoag with the goal of expanding access to complex cardiac services in the area.
