5 key insights on provider & patient views on healthcare

Younger physicians and administrators exhibit a sense of optimism about the future of healthcare, according to a new Booz Allen Hamilton and Ipsos Public Affairs report.

The report reveals how consumers and providers feel about the healthcare industry. It includes responses from more than 1,000 adults and more than 400 healthcare providers.

Here are five key insights:

1. The report found 67 percent of consumers are satisfied with their healthcare.

2. Administrators are more optimistic about the future of healthcare than they were in 2014, with 43 percent reporting the industry is moving in the right direction.

3. Eighty-three percent of physicians are worried about losing autonomy, while only 51 percent of administrators are concerned.

4. Both consumers and providers believe better coordinating care could improve healthcare.

5. Providers see promise in preventative interventions, like disease screening.

"While the study points to some clear trends across the data collected over the past two years, it also brings about new and interesting findings that may be valuable to healthcare leaders," said Nicolas Boyon, senior vice president of Ipsos Public Affairs and director of the study.
