Here’s what you should know:
1. This will be the first time USC partnered with a Kern County provider.
2. Joseph Chen, MD, an adjunct associate professor at USC, believes at least 10,000 people could be suffering from epilepsy in Kern County, Calif. He also believes residents as far north as Fresno, Calif., could use the facility.
3. The center will be the only one in Central Valley, Calif., offering neurosurgery for epileptics.
