Here are four notes:

1. Craig Beyer, MD, will join the surgery center in an effort to expand medical services in the region.

“For something that could be fairly routine, we’re driving 75, 80, 90 miles to get to a facility that we think can take care of us,” said St. Mary’s President John Sigbsury to WJBD Radio. “We think we have facilities here between these two towns, between these two hospitals and it’s my extreme desire to see that it grows.”

2. Dr. Beyer has two decades of medical experience.

3. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

4. After earning his medical degree from Chicago-based Pritzker School of Medicine, he finished his orthopedic surgery residency at Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic.
